A day at Lünersee or how to edit photography with harsh light

I have been struggling lately with taking photos during the day and - even more important - how to edit them when the sun is up in full glance and the light is harsh.

Although as a landscape photographer, I prefer shooting during sunrise or sunset (who saw this coming?), I also enjoy having the camera with me documenting what surrounds me. This being said, I recently experienced very bright conditions at Lünersee in Austria - a place that can give very moody conditions when clouds fill the sky or even the valley at the lake. As if the light conditions were not enough, the water level at the lake itself was lowered to have some construction work being done at the dam.

But however, I took the challenge and tried to find a way to reproduce the light as it was and transport my personal perception through the images. In my opinion (a very subjective though), I think the photos turned out very well leaving an impression of a Hoover dam like scenery.
